Hedgehog Aloe
Aloe humilis

The younger cousin of the more widely recognized and successful aloe Veronica. While he isn't as well known nor his shoots as juicy or regenerative as his cousin's, you can still apply them to any wound. He spends most of his days in direct full sun where he GTLs (grow, tan, laundry) and can go without water for weeks on end.

Sunlight:Bright and direct light.

Water:Once every 2-3 weeks and likes to dry out completely.

Pets:Toxic to pets.

Travel:A 14-day surf trip to Bali is still in the cards.

Indestructible:Even borderline neglect can't kill him.

Pro-tip: The more full sun it gets, the better chance it has of blooming beautiful, fiery red flowers.

A great plant for beginners and neglectful owners. Like most aloes, the hedgehog grows best in full sun, requires well-draining soil, and only needs water once every 2-3 weeks.

With proper nutrients and care, this aloe may even bloom some fiery red flowers. Although not usually fatal, they are considered toxic to pets.

Small: Around 11 inches tall with a container width of 4 inches.

Medium: Around 15 inches tall with a container width of 6 inches.

Sizes will vary.
