Ruby Rubber Plant
Ficus elastica

Sister to Leo, Lea's got all the same personality quirks along with an eye-catching ruby red complexion. She requires a bit more light to keep her colors vibrant and bright. If you're looking for an even more stunning, low-maintenance, and rubber-producing plant, boy do we have a plant for you.

Sunlight:Bright, indirect to direct light.

Water:Once a week when soil is nearly dry 2" down.

Pets:Toxic to pets.

 Sorry Jinxy.

Travel:Best for those who don't jet-set. She likes weekly interaction.

Grows:A slow grower, but can grow tall.

Pro-tip: The stronger your light, the deeper her color will get. Variegation (the discoloration) is a mutation that prohibits chlorophyll production, meaning variegated plants need more light than others.

The Ficus elastica, more commonly known as the Rubber plant, is a species belonging to the fig family (Moraceae). They are native to India and can grow up to 50ft+ in the wild. Don't worry, they're more likely to be 3~10ft indoors.

Rubber plants enjoy medium to bright, filtered sunlight unless variegated (then they need more light). Regular waterings and ample sunlight will result in a happy and fast-growing plant. Avoid drafts and cold rooms.

Medium: Height is around 14 inches and planter width is 6 inches

Sizes will vary.
