Prince of Orange Philodendron
Philodendron cannifolium x 'Prince of Orange'

Philip is a hybrid. He's a self-heading philodendron whose leaves start off in coppery tones, turn bright orange, and then fade into vibrant greens over time. For a royal, he's pretty low maintenance. Plus, who doesn't love a red head?

Sunlight:Bright, indirect light.

Water:Once a week, allow soil to dry 2" down.

Pets:Toxic to your best friends.

Humidity:Loves humidity.

Travel:Week long trips are A-Ok.

Pro-tip: Avoid using tap water as hybrids are extra sensitive to salts.

The Amazonica isn't from the Amazon. In fact, it is a hybrid whose exact roots are unknown but are believed to be in Asia.

Authorities have long said that Salvadore Mauro, the nursery owner credited for this hybrid, simply named it after his business -- Amazon Nursery. Thanks, Salvadore. That's not confusing at all.

The Amazonica will shed older leaves occasionally. Not to worry, you're doing fine. Older growth is often discarded to divert energy for new growth. Misting this plant regularly will help it thrive.

Small: Around 14 inches tall with a container width of 4 inches.

Medium: Around 20 inches tall with a container width of 6 inches.

Size will vary.
